What are we thinking? (Son's Side)

2,300 miles of 7 people/animals for four weeks..... ARE WE CRAZY!!!! I think by the end we will all want a 20 mile radius from each other..... This is going to be fun though new mexico and grand canyon but i think the funniest part is going to be the hours of driving and the meals and stuff like that.  19 more days in washington... 13 more days of school that is the most important

What are we thinking? (Mom's side)

So countdown has begun...19 days until we drive off into the sunset (well if it is actually sunny upon departure from Seattle area).  Rosa (yes, we named our RV) is about half packed already.  She is a gorgeous Class C 30 foot Coachman Freelander.  She is as "luxurious" as we could afford...check out an example at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTRDHXYiq88.  Yes, "Beauflor" Flooring throughout, Thermofoil Countertops, Stainless Steel Frig and Freezer, even a washer/dryer!

OK but seriously you ask, what are the Cunninghams and more importantly is Cara Cunningham thinking? Well, the kids are getting older (Cameron 12.5 and Carsen Emma just over 8) so we figured that we would use the move from Washington to Texas to show them the United States.  Oh yeah it WILL be memorable!!!

The trip:
Starting on June 10 we will spend a night near Mt St Helens then leave for Woodburn Outlets in Oregon (yes, my and Carsen's request).  We love Tax Free Outlet shopping.  Then we will spend a night on the Oregon Coast with an additional day at the beach.  Then off to the Redwood National Forest for two days.  NAPA and SONOMA (stock up for a LONG trip:)) are next with a possible day trip to San Francisco and/or Jack London Museum (Cameron's favorite author).  Off to Yosemite by June 19 and 20 with a few days in Las Vegas (or nearby) soon after but, that part is not set in stone yet.

Grand Canyon follows which I really can't wait for the kids to see.  Then off to Albuquerque and Sante Fe.  Oh yeah can't forget Roswell next (obviously Cameron and Cord's choice).  Then to Fort Davis, TX to hopefully check out the McDonald Observatory.  We will cut across Texas for a day at Sea World in San Antonio.  By July 3 we should be in Denton Texas outside Dallas-Ft Worth.

Sounds crazy, huh? Just wait to follow the trip via blogs by myself and my 12 year old son.  We should provide two very different prospectives of the trip.  We will try to keep up daily...
See you on the roads...
